Day 1

Hanoi Arrival

On arrival, you are welcomed and picked up by your guide and driver and transfer to the downtown of Hanoi for hotel check-in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to recover from the jet lag. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 2

Hanoi City Tour

The city tour of the capital city occupies your whole day. The sites include of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house-on-stilts, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to one of the following museum that you can pick the one you like (the Ethnology Museum, Army Museum, National Fine Arts Museum, Hanoi Hilton prison or Vietnam Women Museum). Followed with a short walk or a cyclo ride around the Old Quarter. End the day tour with a traditional Water Puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 3

HANOI - NINH BINH - HANOI

Depart from Hanoi early this morning and drive overland to Ninh Binh province, a beautiful and rustic countryside. Upon arrival, take 1,5 hour boat rowing at Thung Nang. This area is famous for its wonderful landscape of karst formations. The scenery along the gentle row is stunning and it is deserved to be the highlight activities of the day. Back to the dock and move to a local restaurant for a Vietnamese lunch. In the afternoon, you will continue your visit to Thai Vi temple, which is dedicated to the country’s national heroes. (From the restaurant, you can choose to go to the temple on foot, by bikes or by your private car. We are flexible for this and you just talk with your guide to get the one you prefer). After that, you get back to your private vehicle and return to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4

HANOI - SAPA TREK & HOMES-STAY EXPERIENCE

At 7am, our guide and driver will come and pick you up for a morning drive to Sapa. The drive takes about 5 hours to pass through the evergreen landscapes of the midland. From car windows, you are able to view: tapioca plantation, palm trees on hills, rice terraces and you also have chance to take stunning photos. It is wonderful to start the day with the breathtaking mighty mountainous landscape on the way. Upon arrival in Sapa, get your luggage stored, refresh yourself and have lunch at a restaurant. Spend the whole afternoon trekking to villages.
You get picked and transferred by the car to a trekking point to Y Ling Ho Village, Muong Hoa Valley. Muong Hoa is the biggest valley in Sapa region and bottomed by a rocky river. This is a less-traveled path if you start eaarlier than other visitors. To start, you trek downhill the valley, the scenery of the rice terraces along your way is very beautiful and could be the highlight of the day. Cross the river on a small suspension bridge and continue on the trek uphill. This is rather challenging when it is wet but definitely offers you spetacular view over the valley. Finish your scenic trek at Lao Chai Village where your private vehicle awaits you. Followed by a short transfer to Tavan village of Giay people. Check in a local house where you will enjoy the dinner and stay overnight at the homestay.

Day 5

SAPA - HANOI

Once you get energy by having a delicious breakfast, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao minority. You will trek through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. On the way you will pass by a waterfall where you will have time to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings. Your driver will pick you up to Sapa for lunch at a local restaurant before driving back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at around 6.30-7.00pm. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.

Day 6

HANOI - BAC NINH (PAGODA & TRADITIONAL VILLAGE)

After your breakfast at the hotel, you are picked up again and heading Northeast to the neighboring Bac Ninh province. After 30km drive, you will arrive at Phat Tich pagoda for our first visit of the day. Phat Tich is one of the oldest pagodas in Northern Vietnam. It’s said that the pagoda was originally built in the 7th century. Due to the ups and downs of the country, the original pagoda was destroyed and there has been many restorations so far. It still remains as a popular pilgrimage destination of the locals. After visit the main pagoda, your tour guide will walk you up 200 stone steps to the Peak of Phat Tich Mountain to see a giant stone statue of Buddha. The statue is 27m tall and weighs 3,000 tons, making it one of the largest stone statues in Southeast Asia. From here you also can get a panorama over the countryside of the Red River Delta with villages and rice field. Thence we continue on another 30 kilometers along Duong River (A branch of the Red River) to Phu Lao Village where you will have a homestay experience for tonight. Upon arrival, your host will welcome you with a cup of green tea. Refreshing and enjoy the local lunch with the family. In the afternoon, get back on your vehicle and make your way to Phu Lang Glazed Terra-cotta village. The visit to this village will absolutely amazed you while walking to visit some family-owned workshops. Learning the local techniques of producing different types of ceramics. The main categories that Phu Lang potteries focus on includes: Pottery in credence, Domestic pottery (used in family) and Pottery in decorating. Get back to the homestay, relax and enjoy the dinner and stay for the night. Overnight at a homestay

Day 7

BAC NINH - HA LONG BAY

This morning, you may be woken up by the village roosters. To start the day, you may want to stroll around the village for a while before breakfast. About 8:45 AM, bid farewell to the host family and spend the morning drive to Halong Bay. The Bay is one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural wonders and listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Upon arrival at the pier, you will board a boat for exploring the bay, the views that you get while navigating past thousands of limestone islands with rocky outcrops are incredible. Lunch and dinner are served on board. The activities of today include a swim in the bay in warmer months. You may have chance to do some kayaking (Optional and extra cost involved, depends on different boats) as well. Overnight on board in Halong Bay

Day 8

HALONG BAY - HUE

This morning get up early for some fresh-air on the open deck and join the Tai-chi class for some gentle moves if you wish. Otherwise, you are able to remain in your cabin until breakfast time. After breakfast, the crew will pull up the anchor, start the engine again for more cruising to other part of the bay. After visiting a big limestone cave, the boat is gently heading back to the pier. The early lunch (Brunch) will be served aboard. Around noon, you are ferried in and take the return drive toward Hanoi, arrive at the airport after 4 hour drive. The early evening flight takes you to Hue City in the center of Vietnam. Get picked up and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Overnight in Hue

Day 9

Hue City Tour

Hue city is one of the most cultural and historical territories of the country, once ruled by Emperors of Nguyen dynasty. To start the day, you will embark a dragon boat at a little dock by the bank of the poetic Perfume River for a short cruise to Thien Mu Pagoda, constructed in 1601; the 21-meter stupa tower is the masterpiece of this charming pagoda. Thence getting back to your private vehicle and drive out of the city to visit Minh Mang King’s tomb. This imperial tomb is without doubt the best-combined natural landscape and architectural complex. It was designed on a symmetric axis. Visiting the tomb, you will be impressed by the majesty and symmetry of the architectural constructions. After that, you will enjoy a beautiful lunch at a nice garden restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will be visiting the Royal Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. The Imperial City is located in the centre of the Citadel where established highest offices of Vietnam’s feudalism and sanctums honouring the cult of decreased Emperors. Together with your personal guide, you will take a walk throughout the complex and enjoy the beautiful constructional works divided many sectors. Back to the hotel late in the afternoon. Day 10

HUE - HOIAN & WALKING TOUR OF HOIAN

The morning drive to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass will occupies half of your day. Arrive at Hoi An ancient town. Check into your hotel and then go for lunch at a nice restaurant in town
Nestled a couple of kilometers inland on Thu Bon river, Hoi An is typified by the 16th century Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese architecture. The afternoon walking tour offers you a chance to see how beautiful the Old Quarter of Hoian is. The sites include the Japanese Covered Bridge; Phuoc Kien Assembly; Tan Ky ancient house; Hoi An Culture and History Museum and Quan Cong temple. Evening is free on your own to chill out at a riverside café or enjoy shopping with tailor-made clothing, shoes and lanterns. Overnight in Hoi An

Day 11

FREE DAY IN HOI AN

Today is free for you to do your own things in this charming Old Town: You may be just easy at leisure to enjoy your accommodation facilities or go shopping at the center. If you fancy a swim, this is also the time for that. If your hotel in town you can easily reach a nice local beach by bicycle. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 12

FLY TO HO CHI MINH CITY (HCMC)

After the breakfast at your hotel, you will head out the water on traditional bucket boats to experience the everyday life of the Vietnamese fisherman. Explore local fishing communities before trying your hand at catching your own. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch afterward. In the afternoon, you will transfer (Approx. 40 minutes) to Danang Airport for the short flight (VN121 at 16:20) to Ho Chi Minh City in the Southern Vietnam. Get picked up and transferred to the downtown for the hotel check-in. The evening is yours. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Day 13

TOUR OF HCMC AND CU CHI TUNNELS

After your breakfast in the hotel, start your day by visiting War Remnants Museum and the former Presidential Palace, from there stroll to the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office. After lunch, the car will take you out of the bustling city for Cu Chi District, locates approximately 70 km northwest of Saigon. This is a beautiful green land with fruit gardens, rice paddies and plantations. Cu Chi Tunnels are like a spider web in the soil of Cu Chi District. It consists of more than 200km of narrow underground tunnels that connecting half or total covered hideouts, shelters, fighting bunkers, hospital, school, living rooms and so on… All was built and used by Viet Cong for resistance against their enemy during the French and American war. Thence we will drive back to the city in the late afternoon. Overnight in HCMC

Day 14

HO CHI MINH CITY - MEKONG DELTA

Depart by bus to the “rice basket” of Vietnam – the Mekong Delta. Mekong River starts as ice melt in the Tibetan Himalayas then flows down across the plains of southern China, tickles Burma, forms part of the border between Laos and Thailand, provides food and irrigation as it tumbles through Cambodia, spreads itself out into the ‘9 Headed Dragon’ of the delta spreading rich, life giving silt throughout Southern Vietnam before eventually emptying into the sea. Today will be a full day of discovery as we explore the villages, farms, and intricate waterways that form the delta. Start the trip by a drive to Vinh Long, which on the way is green/yellow rice paddy fields stretching towards the horizon. On arrival, you will embark on a boat for cruising on the Mekong River with passing a small floating market in Cai Be. Along the river, we have more exploring of the local life, farmer and handicraft productions. We then access to An Binh Islet for enjoying the very peaceful atmosphere of the countryside. You are invited to enjoy the lunch at a local house while listening to the folk songs of Nam Bo performed by the “local family artists”. In the afternoon, we continue driving toward Can Tho for overnight in a hotel.

Day 15

MEKONG (CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET) - HO CHI MINH CITY

The watery world of the Mekong Delta is home to many bustling floating markets. This day, we take a boat trip and exploring the vibrant floating market of Cai Rang, where the trading way is unique; each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples, sugar canes. After an impressive boat trip, disembark at Ninh Kieu quay then visit an ancient house in Binh Thuy 10 km from Can Tho city and Can Tho museum. Lunch at local restaurant on the way back to HCMC via My Tho. Overnight in HCMC
