Day 1

HANOI ARRIVAL

On arrival at Noi Bai airport, you will be met and welcomed by the tour guide and driver. Getting transferred to the downtown for hotel check-in. You are free to stroll around the Old Quarter yourself to get used to the City or just relax to recover from the jetlag for the remainder of the first day. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2

HANOI CITY TOUR

Take a full day tour to explore the illustrious capital of Vietnam. In the morning, visit the imposing marble Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh (closed on Mondays and Fridays), followed by his wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda. You will then admire the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature, which is imbued with the profound philosophies of Confucianism. In the afternoon, visit the impressive women museum where you can learn the hardship of Vietnamese woman’s life throughout the country, Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple are visited afterwards. A one-hour cyclo tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter allows you to catch a glimpse of ancient Hanoi and end your day with a light hearted water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3

HANOI - HA LONG

This morning, your drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay takes almost 4 hours. Upon arrival at the pier around noon, get aboard and start the cruise in between hundreds of limestone karst islands which feature the bay. This UNESCO’s world heritage is a spetacular place to have relaxing cruise with some light activities such as leisurely kayaking, swimming (when the weather permits) and a short hike to one of the islands to visit a cave. Lunch and Dinner on boat. Overnight on boat.

Day 4

HA LONG BAY - HUE

You can wake up early for a hot coffee and enjoy sunrise with fresh air on the sun deck or you can remain in your cabin until breakfast time. The boat will have further cruise to other part of the bay and you will have time for visit a beautiful limestone cave which is decoreated by hundreds of stalactites and stalagmites. Lunch is served early today on boat as you need to disembark before noon. Upon disbarking and bid farewell to the crews, you will take the afternoon drive toward Hanoi on your private vehicle and make your way to the airport for the early evening flight to Hue. Once you get out to the exist at Hue airport, you will be welcomed by another personal tour guide who will escort you to the hotel for check-in and spend the night in Hue.

Day 5

Hue City

Start your day with a cyclo ride (local rickshaw) through a part of the city of Hue to observe the excitement of Vietnam’s last capital. Get dropped off and walk to visit the UNESCO listed Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Enter through the towering main gate and you will appreciate the magnificent architecture and gardens while your tour guide explains about the events and the intrigue of the former royal court. Despite being bombed heavily during the Tet Offensive, there are some well-preserved sections still intact and others which are being restored. After visiting the complex of Hue Monuments, you will move on to visit Ming Mang Royal Tomb which is a few minutes to drive from the city. Minh Mang was the second Nguyen Emperor whose interest in architecture brought major new construction to the Imperial City of Hue. His tomb is set in a large garden on the west bank of the Perfume River, with lakes and pavilions built in the old Chinese traditional style. Followed by another stop at Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s best-preserved religious monument, which stands on the riverbank with its impressive seven-storey tower. Thence, take a boat trip along the romantically named Perfume River for the way back to town. Overnight in Hue

Day 6

FLY TO HO CHI MINH CITY

After your breakfast at the hotel, take the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City in the south of Vietnam. The flight takes about 1 hour. Get a short transfer to the downtown for lunch at a restaurant on arrival. The afternoon is spent for visiting the featured sites of the city such as the Re-unification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the French Old Post Office, the War Remnants Museum. Check-in and have the evening to do your own things or just relax at the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 7

MEKONG DELTA VISIT

At 8:30 AM head south of the city for the morning drive to the delta town of Ben Tre, nestled deep within the ricebowl of Vietnam – the Mekong Delta. Ben Tre is seen as a peaceful retreat offers enchanting scenery. Upon arrival, you will embark on a motorized boat trip around the scenic Ham Luong River (a branch of the Mekong) and stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works, including a brickworks, where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand; a coconut processing workshop, where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products; and a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – if you want, you can even have a go at weaving yourself! The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real delta village life, before boarding your xe loi (a kind of motorized rickshaw) and traveling into the village where you can visit fruit orchards before stopping at a riverside restaurant for a delicious and filling lunch, featuring such local specialties as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp, washed down with some cold drinks or beers. Followed by a short sampan for a gentle ride along narrow creeks. You will then return to the dock where you will disbark and take the return drive to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
