In the past, Nha Trang was a part of the Cham Empire, which had only some small fishing villages. How to go to Nha Trang
From an international terminal, you can take a flight to Cam Ranh International Airport and start your endless funny days in Nha Trang. After arriving at the airport, you could travel to the city center by taxi which costs around 200,000 VND. A better option would be the shuttle bus which costs around 40,000 VND, then you can share your trip with other travelers as well. The scenery from Cam Ranh to Nha Trang city center is stunning and majestic, don’t forget to take some photos of it.
The best time to visit Nha Trang is summer, especially in August. Although the weather is affected by the tropical climate, its location near the sea helps cool down the heat in summer and makes its sea color more vivid. The average temperature is 26°C in this season, which is suitable for all outdoor activities such as sunbathing, scuba diving, surfing, etc. Laying under the coconut trees’ shadow, putting on sexy swimwear and chilling in the tender sunlight at Nha Trang beach will be more than enough for your summer vacation experience.

Sunbathing and swimming
Nha Trang’s geological location and weather are suitable for sunbathing and swimming. No matter you spend time running on the sandy coastal line, reading a book under a coconut tree or dipping yourself into the cold and salty water of Nha Trang – those activities are all chilly and funny.
Nha Trang beach, which is located at south Cai river, is the main beach of the city. The beach has a large strip of sand, and the calm water is sufficient for swimming. It also has a beautiful walking path, monuments, and leisure spaces. Mainly there are many restaurants and local food stores around that you can fill an empty stomach full of yummy dishes, either main courses or junk food only.

If you prefer less crowded beaches, Nha Trang beach may not satisfy you. You may go to Hon Duong, Hon Chong or Hon Tre beach instead, which are few kilometers away from city. Those beaches do not have many people so they will be cleaner and quieter.

From the harbor, you can visit the Vinpearl Amusement Park by cable car. Thap Ba hot springs and mud bath is also a must-see destination. It has showers, water jets, heated jacuzzi, waterfall and swimming pools which entry fee costs around 50,000 VND (2 USD) and 100,000 VND for mud bath (4 USD).
Temples
Po Nagar Cham Towers are the most famous temple in Nha Trang. They were built by Cham civilization back to the period from the 7th century to the 12th century to honor Yang Ino Po Nagar – mother of the kingdom. This complex is located on a small hill that could be reached easily by motorbike. By visiting this historic site, you could comprehend more about Cham culture and enjoy the lookout across Nha Trang’s fishing village.

Long Son Pagoda and Nui Cathedral are other well-known temples in Nha Trang that you should take a glance when visiting this seaside city.
