DAY 1

ARRIVAL IN HANOI

Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, your driver and guide will meet you and they will transfer you to your hotel in the downtown. Check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi

DAY 2

CITY TOUR OF HANOI

In the morning you are picked up at your hotel at 8:00 AM and transfer to Ba Dinh Square where you will visit to the mausoleum of the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh (View from outside on Fri & Mon) and the former president’s stilt house where he lived from 1958 to 1969, his former home illustrates the modesty of this Vietnamese revolutionary. The One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 will be visited next: This structure is one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples. Continue on with the Temple of Literature: In 1076 Quoc Tu Giam – Vietnam’s first university, also referred to as Van Mieu, was established within a temple to educate Vietnam’s royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past. A Vietnamese lunch will be served at a restaurant in the city.
In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Ethnology Museum, which are both a research center and a public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam. At the end of the afternoon visit Ngoc Son Taoist Temple, located on a little island of Hoan Kiem Lake and listen to a beautiful legend of this central Lake and learn about the rare species of tortoise which lived there. Finish the day with a cyclo ride around Hanoi’s Old Quarter, which is also known as the ‘36 streets’. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It’s a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you. The evening is free.

DAY 3

HANOI - TAM COC, NINH BINH

You are picked up at 7:30 AM and start the day tour from your hotel in Hanoi. The morning drive takes about 2, 5 hours. Upon arrival at Tam Coc boat dock, you will embark on 2-hour sampan boat ride on Ngo Dong River, a little waterway in between steep limestone mountains and through stunning rice field (Rice season is in between March & June). The local rower is a villager who lives nearby, gently rows the boat through three tunnel-like caves for you to admire the beauty of the place, considered as ‘Inland Halong Bay’. On the way back, bid farewell to your rower at Thanh Station where you will take a short walk to visit Thai Vi temple. The temple is located in a peaceful rice valley and surrounded by Limestone Mountains. Learn a piece of Vietnam’s history as the temple is dedicated to a heroic Vietnamese dynasty, TRAN who defeated Mongolian attacks in 13rd century. Get back to the center for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch and rest, together with your tour guide you will go for an easy bicycling tour to the surroundings. The ride is about 1, 5 hours. It also offers you a close look at the daily life of the local rustics, work and live in this scenic countryside. At 3:00 PM, get on your private transport and make your way back to Hanoi. DAY 4

HALONG BAY DAY TOUR

Depart from your hotel in Hanoi at 8:00 AM. The drive takes around 4 hours to Halong City includes a short break at the midway. The road journey is through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta. Around noon, you arrive at the pier and board your day boat for cruising on the emerald green water of Halong Bay. The boat is heading to the main part of the bay and gently cruising among hundreds of spectacular limestone islands. A fresh lunch will be served on board. The cruise includes a short hike up to an island for a visit to a limestone cave which has many beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. The open deck on the top of the boat with relaxing chairs is a great place for you to enjoy the landscape. Getting back to the pier by 4:00 PM and make your way back to Hanoi. Arrival time will be about 7.30 PM. Overnight in Hanoi

DAY 5

DEPARTURE FROM HANOI

Today is your last day of the trip, you are free at leisure or go out for some last shopping (if time permits) until getting picked up and take the private transfer to the ariport for your departure flight. End of service.
